  12. I originally sent this message to AmiTCP tech support, but they seem
  13. uninterested in providing timely tech support to those who purchase
  14. their software. If anyone can help me with this setup, I would be
  15. greatly obliged.

  19. I am using an Amiga 4000 with Warp Engine, 42MB RAM, OS3.0, AmiTCP
  20. v4.2. I am using a ppp device to connect to my ISP, and it works fine.
  21. I also use an Ariadne card to connect to two other machines in my
  22. office. I would like to have the two other machines route through my
  23. Amiga to the Internet.

  25. My ISP has assigned our office several static IP addresses. In
  26. startnet, I have AmiTCP use the ppp0 device. It works fine. The ppp
  27. connection has the Amiga with an IP address of 199.45.83.163. I then
  28. bring up the Ariadne card with IP 199.45.83.158. Both devices are
  29. using a netmask of 255.255.255.0. A machine on our network has an IP
  30. address of 199.45.83.162. Here's what happens.

  32. With both devices online, the Amiga can see everything - the Internet
  33. via PPP, and the local TCP network via ariadne. The Internet can see
  34. the Amiga at 199.45.83.163, but not the ariadne (199.45.83.158), nor
  35. any computer connected via the ariadne. A machine on the local network
  36. can see the Amiga at 199.45.83.158, but can't see beyond that. In
  37. other words, AmiTCP is not "bridging" the two devices, ppp and
  38. ariadne. I have gateway=yes in the AmiTCP config file, and I did
  39. everything I could think of with the routing tables. Nothing worked.

  41. Could you suggest what the problem might be, and what I can do to
  42. resolve it? I would also like to be able to use one IP address for
  43. both the ppp device and the ariadne, but I am unsure as to how to
  44. convince AmiTCP to route 199.45.83.162 through the ariadne if the
  45. ariadne has the same IP address as the ppp device.
